Currently there are so many types, styles, patterns and brands of reusable cloth nappies available in the market that everyone can find something suitable for themselves.
Actually some of the modern type cloth nappies are as easy to use as disposable ones ๐ and on top of that they look lovely๐. I can imagine cloth nappying may be overwhelming for the new parents, but it is not as difficult as it seems.
And the advantages of using them are a no brainer to me:
โ๏ธ baby’s health
๐ environment friendly
๐ฐ save money
๐ค cute looking
BABY’S HEALTH
By using reusable cloth nappies you reduce baby’s exposure to harmful chemicals which are used in production of disposables. This significantly reduces chances of developing nappy rash. Another great advantage of cloth is minimising overheating. Water resistant layers of cloth nappies are made of breathable fabrics such wool or PUL, they keep the moisture inside but are vapour permeable at the same time.
ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY
Since cloth nappies are designed to be washed and re-used, by choosing them you reduce waste in landfills and it leads to saving drinking water. Also, if you take care of your reusable nappies they can be used on subsequent children or sold and re-used by others! Great saving ๐
SAVE MONEY
In the long run cloth nappies are more cost effective than disposables. Even if you add cost of cloth, energy cost, washing powder etc it is still cheaper than buying disposables. On top of that you can sell used nappies and get part of the invested money back! It is worth noting that some of the councils offer vouchers if you use cloth nappies – check with yours.
STYLISH
OMG, some of the designs are absolutely gorgeous :D. In summer you don’t even need shorts or rompers, the nappies are really cute looking themselves.
